How do I draw still water so it looks flat?
Keep every mark on the surface horizontal. Reflections, ripples and the shadows under the pads all run across, never up and down, and that alone makes the water lie flat.
How do I draw a reflection in a pond?
Mirror the shapes above, then draw them slightly darker and softer than the real thing and break them with a few horizontal lines. A reflection as sharp as the object looks like a hole.
