Down

A chime stepping down in pitch, a wind-up clock ticking slower until it stops and an elevator humming down to a ding. Describe the downward sound you need and Morphic generates it, from a falling tone to a spinning top.

  • Descending chimes, falling tones or a clock winding down, generated as described
  • Wound down for your game menu closing as the player logs off
  • Isolated cues to drop on a level down, a lift scene or a slow fade

Close the menu with a step down in pitch

One descending chime on the frame the panel slides away gives an app demo, a mobile game or an animated explainer its exit.

Let a slow wind-down carry the last shot

A clock winding down under a long final shot fills the end of a scene without music, in a short film, a game ending or a podcast.

よくある質問

What is a down sound effect?
Down sounds are anything heard moving or winding downward: a chime stepping down in pitch, a falling tone, a motor or clock slowing to a stop, a spinning top settling or an elevator descending. The falling pitch or speed tells the ear that something is ending or going lower.
Where can I get down sounds for a video?
Let Morphic generate the downward sound from a short prompt. A falling chime or wind-down whir lands faster than you could find one in a stock library, and it fits your cue. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom down sound effect?
Spell out the source, how quickly it drops and how it ends, then generate it. A prompt like "a descending chime, a quick run of bright bell tones stepping down in pitch" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a down sound, a power down and a tape stop?
A down sound is any downward movement in pitch or speed, from a chime to an elevator. A power down is a machine or device switching off. A tape stop is audio itself slowing to a halt, a music and editing effect more than a sound in the world.
Can I use these down sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my down sound not sit right in the edit?
The drop is often longer than the action it marks. Trim the sound so it reaches the bottom of its fall on the frame the menu closes or the machine stops. For short interface cues, keep descending chimes brief so they end as the motion does.
