Prop Handling

The pick-ups, set-downs, and contact sounds that put an object in a character's hands. Describe the item and the action your shot is missing and Morphic generates the prop handling foley in seconds.

  • Ask for the exact object and surface, a ceramic mug onto a wooden table, keys onto a hard countertop
  • Objects recorded for your scene, not the same library handling take everyone else has already layered in
  • Clean mono files with no room tone fighting your dialogue, ready to sit under picture

Prop handling foley for animation, games, and video edits

Mug set down

Ceramic meeting wood with a short, dull knock, everyday punctuation for a character finishing a thought over coffee.

Keys picked up

A bright jangle of metal lifting off a surface, the small cue that someone has decided to leave.

プロンプトを編集

Paper handled

Dry rustle and crease of sheets being sorted, good for desk scenes where hands need to look busy.

Coins dropped

Loose change hitting a hard surface and scattering, sharp and slightly chaotic, money, luck, or a fumble.

Glass placed

A thin, ringing contact as a tumbler settles down; more delicate than ceramic and suited to bars and dinner tables.

プロンプトを編集

Book closed

A soft thump of pages meeting covers, a decision made, a conversation over, a lesson finished.

Ways to use prop handling foley sound effects

Give a hand movement some weight

A mug meeting a table gives a gesture real weight. Editors reach for it on films and podcast reenactments when picture alone feels weightless.

When a quiet room needs something happening

When dialogue pauses, a shuffle of paper keeps the room alive. Handy in documentary cuts, radio drama and slower game scenes that would otherwise flatten.

A kitchen or office that sounds lived in

Coins, keys and cups build the texture of a workplace or home. Layer them behind an advert, a narrated story or a first-person level.

Suggest a person just out of frame

A book closing off-screen puts a second person in the room. Useful in animation, audio fiction and thrillers where you never show who is there.

よくある質問

What is prop handling foley?
Prop handling foley is the performed sound of objects being picked up, set down, and used in a character's hands: a mug placed on a table, keys grabbed off a hook, a book snapped shut. It is added in post because a camera rarely records those small contacts cleanly. On screen it is what makes an object feel real and physically present rather than a prop the actor is holding.
Where can I get prop handling foley for a video?
Generate it rather than search for it. Describing the object and action takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact contact your shot needs instead of the closest available clip. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom prop handling foley sound effect?
Describe the object, the action, and the surface it meets, then generate it. A prompt like "a ceramic mug set firmly on wood, one clink and a settle, about 1.5 seconds" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until the sound lines up with the action on screen.
How do I match a prop sound to the material of the object?
Name the material of both the object and the surface it touches, because that pairing is what makes the sound specific. A ceramic mug on wood, a glass on marble, and a tin cup on metal all read differently, and getting the material right is what separates a convincing handling beat from a generic clunk. Describe both sides of the contact and the sound places itself.
Can I use these prop handling foley sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated rather than pulled from a shared library, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my prop handling foley not sit right in the edit?
Usually the contact is not landing on the picture. A set-down has to hit the exact frame the object meets the surface, and even slight drift reads as dubbed. Generate the action you need, then align the impact to the frame it happens on, and it settles into the scene with far less mixing.
