Attack

A creature lunging with a snarl and a snap of teeth, claws raking steel, a fireball roaring away and arrows thudding home. Describe the attack your scene needs and Morphic generates it clean.

  • Name the attacker and the strike, a creature lunge, a claw rake, a fire spell
  • A strike made for the boss arena at the end of your dungeon
  • Download it as clean, isolated audio, ready to sit on an animation frame or a hit in your edit

Attack sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Creature lunge

A snarl that builds into a snap of jaws, the moment a monster strikes in a horror film, a boss fight or an animation.

Dog attack

Paws, a ferocious snarl and snapping teeth, for a guard dog sequence, a survival game or a tense chase.

Fireball spell

A crackling charge and a roaring release, the ranged attack a fantasy hero or a wizard enemy throws across the screen.

Claw rake

Three screeching scrapes across metal, the warning that something with claws is trying to get through the door.

Arrow volley

A bowstring snaps and a flight of arrows hisses in and thuds home, for a siege, an ambush or a strategy game.

Shield bash

A dull thump and the clang of a metal boss, the close-quarters attack in a melee game or a historical fight scene.

Ways to use an attack sound effect

Make the boss strike land

One snarl and snap of jaws on the frame the creature lunges gives a boss attack its weight, in a game, a creature film or an animated short.

Hold the wait before the gates break

Arrows arriving in waves keep a siege moving while nobody speaks, for a historical drama, a strategy game trailer or an audio story.

Show that magic is part of this world

A fireball charging and releasing tells the audience the rules of a fantasy setting in one sound, in a game, an animation or a podcast drama.

Keep the attacker behind the door

Claws raking steel from the other side say exactly what is out there, and your horror scene, game or audio drama never has to show it.

FAQs

What is an attack sound effect?
It is the sound of a strike landing or being launched, a creature lunging, a spell firing, claws or a shield hitting home. In games it plays on the attack frame of an animation; in film it marks the moment of contact so the audience feels it.
Where can I get attack sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the strike you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact attacker and contact your scene needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom attack sound effect?
Describe the attacker, the build-up and what the strike hits, then generate it. A prompt like "a large creature lunging, a deep snarl rising into a heavy snap of jaws" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the animation.
What is the difference between a melee, a ranged and a creature attack?
A melee attack is close contact, a shield bash or a blow, short with a hard thump. A ranged attack travels, so it has a launch, a flight and an arrival, like an arrow volley or a fireball. A creature attack leads with the animal itself, a snarl or growl that builds into the bite or the rake.
Can I use these attack sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my attack sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the build-up and the hit are fighting the animation timing. If the wind-up is longer than the motion on screen, the hit lands late. Trim the clip so the loudest point sits on the contact frame, or generate a shorter version that names only the strike.
