Key in the lock
A small key grinding and a firm click as the bolt gives, for a box opened in secret, a heist or a locked drawer puzzle.
Lid slammed shut
A hollow tinny bang with coins jumping inside, for a box shut in anger, a thief caught in the act or a hurried cover-up.
Making change
Coins scooped from the tray and dropped clinking into a palm, the small-trade sound of a market stall, a fete or a ticket table.
Carried at a run
Coins and a loose lid rattling with every stride, for a getaway, a chase through a crowd or a comic dash for the door.

FAQs
What is a cash box sound effect?
Cash box sound effects are the noises of a small portable steel money box: the catch and hinge, the lift-out coin tray, the key lock and coins moving inside. They are thinner and tinnier than a shop till, which suits fetes, stalls and hidden stashes.
Where can I get cash box sounds for a video?
Morphic makes them when you describe the box and the action. That is quicker than sifting coin and drawer packs for something close, and the take matches your prop. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom cash box sound effect?
Choose a part of the box, say what it does and how loud it is, then generate it. A prompt like "a metal cash box lid unlatched and swung open, a sharp click of the catch, a hinge creak" gives Morphic enough detail, and you can add or remove coins to taste.
What is the difference between a cash box, a cash register and a coin drop?
A cash box is a small steel box with a hinged lid, so you hear thin metal, a catch and coins sliding in a tray. A cash register has a bell, keys and a spring drawer that shoots out. A coin drop is just coins landing, with no box at all.
Can I use these cash box sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my cash box sound not sit right in the edit?
The box on screen may be fuller or emptier than the one you hear. A nearly empty box rattles thin and bright, a full one clunks, so match the coin load to the prop and keep the level close to the hands on screen.
