Make someone storm away from the table
One harsh chair scrape as a character stands gives the exit its force, in a drama, a sitcom, an animated short or a story podcast.

FAQs
What is a drag sound effect?
Drag sounds are the scrape and grind of something pulled along the ground: chair legs on tile, a chain on concrete, a sack on floorboards or feet through mud. The weight of the object and the surface under it decide the whole character of the sound.
Where can I get drag sounds for a video?
Write the drag you need and Morphic generates it from the description. That is quicker than searching a stock library for a scrape on the right surface, and every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start there.
How do I make a custom drag sound effect?
Name the object, the surface and the pace of the pull, then generate it. A prompt like "a heavy sack of grain dragged across wooden floorboards with short tugging pauses" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits.
What is the difference between a drag, a scrape and a slide?
A drag is a heavy object pulled along with friction the whole way, so it grinds and stutters. A scrape is a shorter, harsher contact, like chair legs on tile, and a slide is smooth and low friction, an object gliding with little noise.
Can I use these drag sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my drag sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the pace of the pull fights the picture. Match the scrape to the motion on screen, short tugs for someone struggling and one long grind for a steady haul, and lower the level when the object is in the background.
