Electric shock sounds for games, animation, and video edits
Electrocution zap
A harsh crackling zap that jolts and cuts off, for a character grabbing a live wire or a trap that fires in an action scene.
Cartoon shock
A fast rattling buzz with bright crackles and a springy end, for an animated gag, a comedy sketch or a game fail.
Static shock
One crisp snap from a fingertip to metal, for a small comic moment, a dry winter office or two hands touching.
Held electrocution
A rough current that pulses and will not let go, for a long struggle, a sci-fi trap or a boss fight in a game.
Electric fence jolt
A ticking pulse and two hard snaps, for a hand on a farm fence, a guarded compound or a prison break gone wrong.
Trap zap and fizzle
A heavy zap that sizzles down to nothing, for a trap springing, a robot short-circuiting a foe or a puzzle failing.

Ways to use an electric shock sound effect
Hold a long electrocution without a score
A shuddering current that will not let go carries a long struggle on its own, keeping a sci-fi film, a game boss fight or an audio drama tense.
Edit prompt
Show the viewer the fence is live
An electric fence ticking and snapping as a hand touches it tells the audience the farm or compound is guarded, in video, games and podcasts.
Edit prompt
Let the trap go off behind a closed door
A heavy zap and fizzle off screen says the trap caught someone, so a horror short, a puzzle game or a radio play never has to show it.

FAQs
What is an electric shock sound effect?
An electric shock sound effect is the zap of current hitting someone or something: a cartoon jolt, a static snap from a handle, a fence pulse or a full electrocution. It is short and sharp with a crackling edge, and it marks the exact moment of contact.
Where can I get electric shock sounds for a video?
Describe the shock in a prompt and generate it. That is faster than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact jolt your shot needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom electric shock sound effect?
Say what is touched, how hard the current hits and how it ends, then generate it. A prompt like "a hand touching a live electric fence wire, two loud hard snapping zaps with a clear gap between" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits.
What is the difference between a cartoon shock, a static shock and an electrocution?
A cartoon shock is exaggerated, a rattling buzz with a springy end for comedy. A static shock is one tiny crisp snap, and an electrocution is a harsh crackling current that holds on a body, so match the size of the sound to the tone of the scene.
Can I use these electric shock sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my electric shock sound not sit right in the edit?
The zap is probably not landing on the contact frame. Line the start of the shock up with the exact frame the hand or body touches, and cut it off when the character lets go, because a shock that starts late reads as pasted on.
