How do I change how confident the read sounds?
Work on the shape of the line rather than the volume. A light upward lift at the end reads as breezy, a slow drawn-out delivery reads as smug, and a thin wavering middle reads as someone who has already lost faith in the plan.
What sound usually comes after it?
A record scratch for a hard turn, or a descending brass slide when the failure is more embarrassing than dramatic. Both are on this page, so the setup and the payoff can be cut from the same session.
Can I get a female or older voice for the read?
Yes. Swap the description in the prompt, a short confident three-word female vocal, or an older male read, and keep the delivery notes the same. The delivery is what carries the joke, not the voice.
Why does my vocal come back sounding processed?
Something in the prompt asked for a space. Keep it to "dry and close" and leave rooms, stages, and microphones out of it, then add any reverb you want in your editor where you can control the amount.
