FAQs
What is a slip sound effect?
It is the noise of a foot losing grip: a squeaking skid, a slippery slide and often a thud or a flail. In comedy it is usually exaggerated with a whistle or a boing.
Where can I get slip sounds for a video?
Describe how the fall plays out and generate it. That beats searching a comedy pack, and every sound on this page came from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom slip sound effect?
Name the surface, the shoe and the ending, for example "a boot sliding across ice and stopping softly". A cartoon fall can add a slide whistle and a flat thud.
What makes the banana slip different from a normal slip?
The banana slip is stylised: a rising whoosh and a flat thud timed like a punchline. A normal slip is a quick squeak or a scuff that reads as a real near miss.
Can I use these slip sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Each sound is generated for you rather than pulled from a shared pack.
Why does my slip sound land late?
The whoosh should start a few frames before the body hits the ground. Line the thud up with the impact frame and let the squeak sit just ahead of it.
