Your ElevenLabs voices
How to speak with the voices of your organization's own ElevenLabs account on Morphic, make new ones on References or with Copilot, and what speech with them costs.
Your ElevenLabs voices on Morphic let you speak with the voices of your organization's own ElevenLabs account, and make new ones in it from recordings, also known as voice cloning. Speech with these voices runs on your ElevenLabs account, so Morphic charges a fraction of its usual credits.
Connecting an ElevenLabs account is part of Enterprise plans. An admin connects it first, in Connectors.
Synced voices
The account's personal voices and workspace voices become your organization's voices in Morphic. Voices it added from the ElevenLabs Voice Library, and ElevenLabs' default voices, are not synced.
Voices sync when the account is connected, when an admin clicks 'Sync now', and every night. A voice renamed in ElevenLabs is renamed in Morphic, and a voice removed from the account leaves Morphic. Rename voices in ElevenLabs; a name changed in Morphic goes back to the ElevenLabs name at the next sync.
Find your voices
Everyone in your organization can use them, and a voice you make appears in the same places:
- The voice picker, under 'My voices' above 'Library', when an ElevenLabs model is selected
- References, with the type filter set to 'Voice'. At the top of the page, 'Voice slots' shows how many of your ElevenLabs account's voice slots are used
- Copilot: ask for speech in one of your voices by name
Speak with a voice
- Open Canvas on Morphic
- In the prompt bar at the bottom, switch the mode to 'Audio', then choose 'Speech', 'Dialogue' or 'Speech to speech'
- Pick an ElevenLabs model
- Open the voice picker and choose a voice under 'My voices'. Press play on a voice to hear its preview
- Write your script, or add your recording for speech to speech
- Click the blue button in the prompt bar
The request runs on your ElevenLabs account, with its key, and ElevenLabs bills it to that account. In a dialogue, use voices from your ElevenLabs account on their own; one request cannot mix them with Morphic's voices.
Cost
Speech, dialogue and speech to speech with a voice from your ElevenLabs account cost 15% of the usual credits, rounded up to a whole credit. ElevenLabs bills the characters to your ElevenLabs account.
| Usual cost | With a voice from your ElevenLabs account |
|---|---|
| 5 credits | 1 credit |
| 20 credits | 3 credits |
| 480 credits | 72 credits |
The usual costs are on Plans & Credits. A professional voice speaks with Morphic's ElevenLabs account, so speech with it costs the usual credits.
Making a voice on References costs no Morphic credits, and making one with Copilot costs only the Copilot reply that asks for it. Previews cost none.
Make a voice
Any member can make a voice from recordings of one speaker, on References or by asking Copilot. There are two kinds:
- Instant: ready in a short time. It is made in your ElevenLabs account and takes one of its voice slots. The recordings need to be 1 to 10 audio files, 30 seconds to 5 minutes of speech in total, and up to 100 MB together. 1 to 2 minutes of speech works best
- Professional: trained by our team, on References only. It needs 30 minutes of clean speech at the minimum, and 1 to 3 hours gives the best result. It counts toward your organization's professional voices, not your ElevenLabs account's voice slots
Use recordings of one speaker and one speaking style, with no music and no other voices.
On References
- Open References with the type filter set to 'Voice', and click 'New reference'. From another filter, click 'New reference', then 'Voice' at the top of the window
- Choose 'Instant' or 'Professional'
- Under 'Name', enter a name for the voice
- Under 'Recordings', drop your audio files on 'Add recordings', or click it to choose them. MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC and OGG files work. Each recording shows its length and size; press play to hear it, or the cross to remove it
- Check the line below the recordings. It shows how much speech they hold, then 'Good length' for an instant voice or 'Enough to train' for a professional one. Otherwise it says how much to add or remove, for example 'Add 8 s or more'
- Under 'Language of the recordings', choose the language the speaker uses, or 'Not sure'. The voice speaks every supported language, and its accent is best in this one
- For an instant voice, turn on 'Remove background noise' only if the recordings have noise. On clean recordings it makes the voice worse
- Tick the box with the statement "This is my voice, or I have the written permission of the speaker." Morphic keeps a record of this confirmation with your name and the time
- Click 'Create voice' for an instant voice, or 'Request voice' for a professional one
The bottom of the window counts what is used, for example '3 of 10 voice slots used' for an instant voice, or '0 of 1 professional voices used' for a professional one.
An instant voice is ready straight away. The voice shows 'Preview on its way' on References until its preview is made. For a professional voice, 'What we need' in the window lists what the recordings must hold. The speaker may be asked to read a short phrase to prove the voice is theirs, or our team reviews the request. Our team then trains the voice and sends you a notification when it is ready, and the reference shows 'Requested' until then.
Before you fill in an instant voice, Morphic checks your ElevenLabs account: it is connected, its key works, its ElevenLabs plan includes instant voice cloning, and it has a free voice slot. If one of these fails, the window says so in place of the form. An admin gets an 'Open Connectors' button to Connectors, and other members are asked to contact an admin.
On plans below Enterprise, 'Voice' in the 'New reference' window carries an 'Enterprise' badge. Click 'Talk to sales' there to ask about the plan.
With Copilot
Copilot makes instant voices.
- Open Copilot
- Attach the recordings with the paperclip
- Ask for a voice, give it a name and say which language the recordings are in, for example "Make a voice called Narrator from these English recordings"
- Copilot checks that your organization can make a voice: the account is connected, its key works, its ElevenLabs plan includes instant voice cloning, and it has a free voice slot. If not, Copilot says why before anything is made
- On the 'Make a voice?' card, check the name and the number of recordings, and read the statement "This is my voice, or I have the written permission of the speaker." Click 'Approve' to confirm it, or 'Decline'
- The card reads 'Making the voice…', then 'Voice made'
The voice is ready straight away, in the same chat and everywhere your voices appear, and it can speak every language the speech models offer. The card appears even when the chat is set to 'Automatically generate', because only a person can confirm the speaker's permission. Morphic keeps a record of who approved it, and when.
Ask Copilot to remove background noise only when the recordings are noisy. On clean recordings it makes the voice worse.
Previews
Every voice gets a short preview line so you can hear it before you use it. A voice synced from the account plays the preview ElevenLabs already keeps for it. Any other voice gets one spoken with your account's key, made once and uses about a hundred of the account's characters, and no Morphic credits.
A voice made in Morphic gets its preview a moment after it is made. A synced voice with no preview in ElevenLabs gets one overnight, and shows 'Preview on its way' on References until then. If Morphic cannot make one, the voice shows 'No preview'.
Delete a voice
- Open References with the type filter set to 'Voice'
- Click the three-dot button on the voice, then 'Delete'
- Click 'Delete voice' to confirm
The voice is deleted for every member of your organization, and audio you already made with it stays. It stays deleted in Morphic even though it is still in your ElevenLabs account, where it keeps its voice slot. To free the slot, delete it in ElevenLabs too.
A deleted voice comes back only if it is removed from the ElevenLabs account and added to it again, or if the account is disconnected and connected again.
Disconnect
When an admin disconnects the account, its voices leave Morphic and stay in ElevenLabs. Audio you already made stays. Connecting the account again brings its voices back.
Troubleshooting
When a request cannot go ahead, Morphic says why. Copilot shows the messages below; on References, the window shows the same problems in its own words, for example 'No free ElevenLabs voice slots'.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "The organization's own voices are made in its connected ElevenLabs account, and none is connected. An admin can connect one in Settings > Connectors." | Ask an admin to connect the account. |
| "The organization's connected ElevenLabs account no longer accepts its API key. An admin can connect it again with a new key in Settings > Connectors." | An admin creates a new key in ElevenLabs and pastes it in Connectors. |
| "The organization's connected ElevenLabs account has no characters left. More come with the account's ElevenLabs plan." | In ElevenLabs, add credits to the account or move it to a bigger plan. ElevenLabs counts characters as credits. |
| "The organization's connected ElevenLabs account has no free voice slots. Delete a voice there, or move the account to a plan with more." | Delete a voice in ElevenLabs, or upgrade the account's plan there. Deleting a voice in Morphic does not free a slot. |
| "The ElevenLabs plan of the organization's connected account does not include instant voice cloning. Upgrade that account's plan in ElevenLabs to make voices." | Upgrade the account's plan in ElevenLabs. Its existing voices keep working. |
| "The voice provider asks for a verification of the speaker, so the voice was not made. Try other recordings, or contact support." | Try other recordings of the same speaker. |
| "This voice needs more proof of permission" (References) | The voice was not made. Contact support to continue. |
| '1 of 1 professional voices used' (References) | Delete a voice, or ask your admin to raise the limit. |
| "One request cannot speak with voices of the organization's connected ElevenLabs account and Morphic's voices together." | In a dialogue, give every speaker a voice from your ElevenLabs account, or none. |
| A message that starts "The recordings are" or "Give at most 10 recordings" | For an instant voice, use 1 to 10 audio files of one speaker, 30 seconds to 5 minutes and up to 100 MB in total. For a professional voice, use 30 minutes of speech or more. |
That's how you use your ElevenLabs voices on Morphic. Reach for them when your team's voices already live in ElevenLabs, or when a project needs a voice of its own.
