Prompts and step-by-step recipes for Morphic for Blender, from lighting and set dressing to generating props and turning renders into video.

Start from these and change the details to fit your scene. Each prompt goes in the 'Chat' tab unless a recipe says otherwise.

Prompts for the Chat tab

Look at the scene

  • "What's in this scene?"
  • "Why does my render look so flat?"
  • "Which objects have no material?"
  • "What does the camera see right now? Is the subject centered?"

Lighting

  • "Light this as a three-point setup on the character: warm key from the left, soft fill, cool rim"
  • "Make it look like golden hour coming through the window"
  • "Turn this into a moody night scene with one practical lamp on the desk"
  • "Lower every light by half and make the shadows softer"

Materials

  • "Make the cube glossy red"
  • "Give the floor a worn concrete look and the table a dark walnut wood"
  • "Make the selected objects brushed metal"
  • "Every object with no material gets a neutral grey clay material"

Set dressing and layout

  • "Add a large ground plane under everything"
  • "Scatter 12 rocks of different sizes around the tree, none of them touching"
  • "Put the three chairs evenly around the round table, facing it"
  • "Line up the selected objects 50 cm apart along X"

Camera and animation

  • "Add a camera at eye level looking at the character, with a 35mm lens"
  • "Animate a slow dolly-in on the character from frame 1 to 120"
  • "Make the camera orbit the product once over 5 seconds"
  • "Set the scene to 24 fps, frames 1 to 96, and 1920 × 1080"

Clean up

  • "Delete every object that is hidden in the viewport"
  • "Rename the objects in the Props collection to clear names"
  • "Apply the scale on the selected objects"

Recipes

Light and render a product shot

  1. Model or import your product, then ask: "Set this up as a studio product shot: a seamless white backdrop, a soft key from above left and a rim light behind"
  2. Read the script and click 'Apply'. Too much? Press Ctrl+Z once and ask again with more detail
  3. Ask: "Add a camera framing the product in 4:5, slightly from above"
  4. Render with F12 and click 'Send render'. The still is in your Morphic assets, ready to use as a reference

Make a prop that matches your scene

  1. On the 'Image' tab, generate the prop on a plain background, for example "a ceramic teapot with a blue glaze, plain grey background, studio light"
  2. Select the plane the image lands on
  3. On the '3D' tab, set 'Reference' to 'Selected image' and click 'Generate'
  4. The model is imported at the 3D cursor. Ask Copilot to place it: "Put the teapot on the table, centered"

Turn your blocking into a video

  1. Block out the shot with simple shapes and position the camera. Copilot can help: "Add a camera low to the ground looking up at the tower"
  2. On the 'Video' tab, describe the shot, for example "slow push-in toward the stone tower at dusk, fog rolling in"
  3. Turn on 'Use active camera view as first frame'. The video starts from your camera's composition
  4. Click 'Generate'. The video is placed on a plane in the scene and saved to your Morphic assets

Restyle a render

  1. Render your frame with F12 and click 'Send render'
  2. Click the globe icon in the 'Chat' tab to open the .blend's Morphic file in Studio
  3. Use the render from 'Assets' as a reference, and prompt the look you want, for example "the same scene as a watercolor illustration". See Images

Build a backdrop board

  1. On the 'Image' tab, set 'Aspect ratio' to 21:9 and prompt the world, for example "misty pine forest at dawn, wide establishing view"
  2. Generate, then ask Copilot: "Move the forest image 15 m behind the set, scale it to fill the camera view, and make its material emit light so it isn't shaded"

Share a turntable

  1. Ask: "Make the camera orbit the selected object once over 120 frames"
  2. In the 'Output' tab, render to a video file (see Send an animation)
  3. Render > Render Animation, then click 'Send animation'. Share it from Studio or add it to a Compose timeline
