# Chats

The Chats page lists every Copilot conversation in one place, so you can find an earlier chat without remembering which file it was in.

Here's a quick tutorial on how to use Chats on Morphic:

### Getting there

1. Open the [Dashboard](/docs/getting-started/dashboard.md)
2. Click 'Chats' in the left sidebar

Home also shows a Chats row with your most recent conversations. Click 'See more' beside it to open the full list.

### Finding a chat

Chats appear as cards showing the name and when it was last opened. Click one to open it.

* 'All chats' shows everyone's chats. Switch it to 'My chats' for only your own
* 'Favorites' narrows the list to chats you have starred
* 'Last modified' changes the sort order
* 'Search...' in the top right searches by name

### Managing a chat

1. Hover a chat card
2. Click the heart in the top-right corner to favorite it
3. Open the '...' menu in the bottom-right corner for 'Rename', 'Add to favorites', and 'Delete'

### Good to know

* Click 'New chat' in the top right to start a fresh conversation from this page.
* A chat carried on from another one is named after the chat it came from. Renaming it for what you are doing in it keeps a long list readable. See [Continue in a new chat](/docs/getting-started/copilot/continue-in-a-new-chat.md).
* Deleting a chat does not delete what it made. Generated assets stay in your [Assets](/docs/getting-started/assets.md) library.

That's how you manage your chats on Morphic. It gives you one list of every conversation, however many files they are spread across.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://morphic.com/docs/getting-started/dashboard/chats.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
