Land the moment the trap is sprung
A trapdoor lever and thud on the frame the floor gives way makes the drop hit hard, in a short film, an adventure game or an animated short.

Questions fréquentes
What is a lever sound effect?
It is the sound of a bar pulled or pushed on a pivot: a grind through its arc and a clunk where it stops or locks. Size and material decide the result, from a heavy iron castle lever to a small metal toggle.
Where can I get lever sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the pull you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom lever sound effect?
Name the lever, its material and what happens at the end of the pull, then generate it. A prompt like "a heavy iron lever pulled down hard, a stiff metal grind then a deep solid clunk" gives Morphic enough to work with.
What is the difference between a lever, a latch and a switch sound?
A lever sound has movement through an arc, a grind or ratchet, then a stop. A latch is a bolt or catch closing on a door, and a switch is a short click with almost no travel. If a character pulls a bar, use the lever.
Can I use these lever sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my lever sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the clunk does not land when the lever stops on screen. Line up the end of the pull with the final frame of the motion, and pick a heavier or lighter lever so the weight matches what you see.
