How do I draw a protein structure clearly?
Pick one convention and stay in it. Ribbon diagrams show the fold, ball and stick shows the bonds, and space filling shows the surface. Mixing two in one image is what makes most student diagrams hard to read.
How do I show the four levels of protein structure?
Ask for four panels in a row: a flat chain of beads, a coiled helix, a folded ribbon, and several folded units assembled together. Keeping one line weight and palette across all four makes the progression obvious.
Can I get a protein diagram with a transparent or white background?
Yes. Ask for a plain white background with no grid and no shadow, then crop it on the Canvas. It drops straight into a slide, a poster or a lab report without fighting the layout behind it.
Should I add labels to the drawing itself?
Generate the diagram without text and add labels in your slide or document software. Generated lettering is often malformed, and keeping labels separate means you can translate or edit them later without redrawing.
What colours work best for a protein ribbon diagram?
