FAQs

How do I draw a computer so it looks three-dimensional?
Treat the monitor as a box, not a rectangle. Show the depth on one side and under the bezel, and keep the keyboard on the same perspective as the screen. A front-on monitor with a keyboard drawn from above is the most common tell.
How do I draw the screen without generated text going wrong?
Ask for a blank or off screen and add any interface yourself in a layout tool. Text and icons rendered small inside a screen rarely come out clean, and a blank screen also keeps the drawing usable across more projects.
How do I draw a laptop at the right screen angle?
Say the lid is open a little past vertical. That angle shows the screen face and the keyboard at once. Fully upright hides the keys, and much further back turns the screen into a thin sliver.
Can I get a computer drawing as a clean icon or outline?
Ask for flat vector line art with an even stroke, no shading and a plain white background. That version scales down to an icon slot or a diagram without the bezel and key lines merging together.
How do I make a computer drawing look retro rather than modern?
Describe the depth. An older machine has a deep monitor casing, thick bezels, a beige body, visible vent slots and a coiled cable. A modern one is a thin flat panel on a narrow stand. Say which and the drawing stops drifting between the two.
Can I keep one machine design across a set of drawings?
Yes. Use Style Transfer to hold the medium and line weight, then generate the same computer front-on, from three quarters and from behind. Only the angle changes in the prompt, so the casing stays consistent.
