FAQs

How do I draw a lemon so it does not look like an egg?
The silhouette does it. A lemon is an oval with a small nipple at each end and a slight asymmetry, not a smooth ellipse. Add the pitted peel texture and the shape stops reading as an egg.
How do I draw a cut lemon half?
Draw the outer ring first, then a thinner pith ring inside it, then eight to ten segments radiating from the centre with small gaps between them. Keep the juice sacs as short strokes running the same way in each segment.
How do I draw lemon peel texture?
Use small irregular marks or stipple that get denser on the shaded side and lighter across the lit curve. Do not cover the whole fruit evenly, because leaving part of it bare is what reads as shine.
What is the difference between drawing a lemon and a lime?
A lime is rounder, smaller and has a smoother peel with a tighter segment pattern. A lemon is more elongated with pointed ends and a coarser pitted surface. The colour is the last cue, not the first.
Can I get a lemon drawing for a label or packaging?
Ask for an even line, flat colour, no shading and a plain background, then download it in HD. A single stroke weight keeps the mark readable when it is printed small.
Can I match a lemon drawing to other fruit drawings?
Generate the lemon first, then use Style Transfer so oranges, limes and other fruit keep the same line weight and palette. That is how a set for a menu or a print stays consistent.
