Draw music notes in any medium you like

Draw a music note in your browser with Morphic's Image tool by naming the note type, the stem direction, the medium and the surface. Ask for a single bold quaver or a whole bar drifting across the page, refine it on the Canvas, then download the drawing in HD.

FAQs

How do I draw a music note correctly?
The head is an oval tilted slightly off horizontal, not a circle, and the stem attaches to its right side going up or its left side going down. Say that and the note stops looking like a lollipop.
Which way should the stem point?
Below the middle staff line stems go up on the right, above it they go down on the left. If you are drawing notes on their own with no staff, pick one direction and keep it consistent across the set.
How do I draw beamed notes?
Ask for two or three notes joined by a straight beam across the stem ends, with all the stems the same direction. The beam can slope, but it stays a single straight bar rather than curving.
Can I get a music note on a transparent or plain background?
Yes. Ask for a plain white background with nothing else in the frame, then crop it tight on the Canvas. That keeps the silhouette clean enough to drop into a poster or a layout.
How do I draw a treble clef that looks right?
The spiral crosses its own tail and the curve is tightest at the centre, loosening as it climbs. Ask for a long tail running below the staff line, which is what gives the symbol its balance.
Can I make a matching set of music symbols?
Lock the first drawing with Style Transfer, then generate the bass clef, the rests, the sharp and the flat against it. They all come back at one line weight so they work together on a page.
