Draw a paper airplane, from a flat icon to a folding diagram

Describe the paper airplane you want in Morphic's Image tool, from a flat vector glider with a dotted flight path to a shaded study of a creased fold. Set the angle, the medium, the crease detail and whether a trail follows it, adjust it on the Canvas, then download it in HD.

Paper airplane drawing styles you can make

Paper airplane compositions you can build

Flight path across the page

One paper airplane crossing the page with a long dotted loop marking the path it has flown, even line weight and the rest left as open space.

Thrown across a classroom

A paper airplane in flight over desks drawn in ink, the room behind kept in lighter line so the folded sheet stays the sharpest thing in frame.

Squadron of gliders

Five paper airplanes at different sizes and angles spread across the frame, flat vector line, each one turning slightly differently.

Outline airplane to colour

One large paper airplane drawn as bold outlines with the crease lines marked, wide blank wing panels and no shading, ready for colouring.

FAQs

How do I draw a paper airplane that looks folded?
Everything rests on the centre crease: draw it as one continuous ridge, then keep both wings mirrored either side of it. Adding a light tone on one wing and leaving the other white is what sells the fold.
How do I draw a paper airplane in flight?
Tilt the nose slightly up and roll the body a little so one wing is nearer than the other, then add a dotted trail curving behind. A perfectly level airplane reads as parked, not flying.
How do I make a simple paper plane icon?
Ask for flat vector line art, one even stroke, three straight edges and a single crease line, on a white background. That version stays readable at small size and works next to a send or share label.
Can I make a folding diagram rather than a picture?
Yes. Ask for numbered steps, dashed lines for the folds and small arrows showing the direction of each turn. Saying "instructional diagram, flat, no perspective" keeps the steps square to the page.
How do I draw the shadow under a paper airplane?
Keep it small and soft, sitting directly under the nose rather than the whole body, so the airplane looks light. A long hard shadow makes a folded sheet read as a heavy object.
Can I get it as a transparent PNG for a slide?
Generate it on plain white with no background elements, then cut the background on the Canvas and export. A flat vector version cuts most cleanly because the edges stay hard.
