FAQs

How do I get an anatomical heart instead of a symbol heart?
Use the word anatomical in the prompt and name the vessels at the top. Without that, most prompts default to the valentine shape, because that is the more common meaning of the word on its own.
What shape is a real heart?
Closer to a rounded cone tipped over to one side, widest at the top where the vessels enter and narrowing to a blunt point at the bottom. Ask for it tilted rather than upright, which is what keeps it from reading as symmetrical.
How do I draw the vessels so they look right?
Give them different diameters and let them cross in front of each other rather than fanning out evenly. Ask for the large arch at the top to overlap the vessels behind it, which is what creates the depth.
How do I shade a heart so it looks wet?
Small, hard highlights on a soft gradient. Ask for one light direction, broad soft tone across the muscle, and a few tight bright marks on the raised curves. Large soft highlights read as matte instead.
Which medium suits an anatomical heart study?
Graphite for a tonal study, stipple for an old medical plate look, coloured pencil where you want the muscle colour, and charcoal for a dramatic low-key piece. Generate two and compare before committing.
Can I use a realistic heart drawing as a tattoo reference?
Ask for the fine-line contour version with no shading, since that is what transfers cleanly. Download it in HD so the vessel lines stay sharp when your artist scales the design up or down.
