Air

A sharp blast from a compressed-air nozzle, the thin hiss of a leaking hose and the pshh of a pneumatic valve letting go. Describe the air sound your scene needs and Morphic generates it clean.

  • Compressed-air blasts, leaks, valve releases and pump strokes, made to order
  • Pressure built for your workshop repair, airlock scene or pit-stop shot
  • Isolated air and nothing else, easy to drop under a cut, a door or a gadget

Air sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Compressed-air blast

A short hard burst from an air nozzle, for cleaning dust off a part, a gadget firing or a quick transition.

Pinhole air leak

A thin, steady hiss from a hose that will not hold pressure, for a slow puncture, a failing machine or growing tension.

Pneumatic release

A piston valve venting with a sharp pshh, for a factory press, a door opening on a ship or a robot settling.

Tyre deflating

Air rushing out of a tyre valve until it runs empty, for a prank, a breakdown or a vehicle sagging to the ground.

Hand pump strokes

Three firm strokes of a hand pump pushing air through, for inflating a ball, a bike tyre or a raft on the shore.

Hatch pressure swell

A rising rush of air as a sealed hatch equalises, ending in a hiss, for a vault, a capsule or a lab door opening.

Ways to use an air sound effect

Make a gadget fire with a burst of air

One compressed-air blast on the frame a part is cleaned or a device triggers gives the moment its snap, in a product video, a game or an animation.

Hold a quiet repair shot without music

A thin air leak hissing under a long close-up of hands at work keeps the shot tense and real, in a how-to video, a drama or a podcast scene.

Tell the viewer they are on a sealed ship

A hatch swelling open with a rush of air sets a pressurised space before the crew appears, in sci-fi film, a level intro or an audio drama.

Hint at a slow puncture nobody has seen

A tyre deflating off screen tells the audience the getaway car is going nowhere without showing the wheel, in comedy, thrillers and radio plays.

FAQs

What is an air sound effect?
An air sound effect is the noise pressurised air makes as it escapes or rushes in: a nozzle blast, a leak, a valve venting or a tyre going flat. Each one tells the audience something is under pressure.
Where can I get air sounds for a video?
Describe the air you need and Morphic generates it. That takes less time than hunting through a stock library, and every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom air sound effect?
Name the source, the way the air escapes and how long it lasts, then generate it. A prompt like "pressurised air escaping from a pinhole leak in a rubber hose, a thin sharp steady hiss" gives Morphic enough to work with.
What is the difference between an air leak, a valve release and a compressed-air blast?
A leak is a thin hiss that keeps going until someone fixes it. A valve release is one short pshh as a machine lets off pressure. A compressed-air blast is a deliberate hard burst from a nozzle, louder and shorter than both.
Can I use these air sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my air sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the hiss is too long or too bright for what the picture shows. Cut the air so it starts on the frame the valve opens, and roll off some top end if it fights dialogue. A leak heard from another room should also be lower in level.
