Firecracker sound effects

Ground level and rapid: a single sharp bang, a long string going off, a whole street at once, the fuse before it, and the smoke and silence after.

  • Ask for uneven spacing, because a perfectly regular string reads as gunfire rather than celebration
  • Audio cut for your scene rather than a stock fireworks clip that is the wrong shape entirely
  • Download clean audio and drop it straight into your edit
Firecracker sound effects

Celebration audio for film, games, and video

Long string

Rapid dry bangs at slightly uneven spacing. The unevenness is what keeps it celebratory instead of military.

Single bang

One sharp crack with almost no tail. Small and dry, which is what separates it from anything aerial.

A whole street

Many strings at different distances, dense and overlapping. The distances are what make it a neighbourhood.

Fuse

A fine sputtering hiss with small sparks, ending abruptly. Two seconds of anticipation and then a cut.

Last stragglers

A few final bangs thinning out with long gaps. The end of a string, and the gaps get funny.

Distant strings

Bangs from streets away with all the sharpness gone. Puts a celebration somewhere you are not.

Fill a festival scene without music

A whole street going off at different distances carries a wide shot, and it needs no track underneath.

Tell the audience the night is ending

Stragglers with long gaps between them says the celebration is over more clearly than a fade would.

FAQs

How is this different from the fireworks page?
Height and shape. Fireworks go up, so that page has a whistle and a boom overhead. Firecrackers stay on the ground and come in rapid strings of small dry bangs. They share no clips.
Why does my string sound like gunfire?
The spacing is too regular. Ask for slightly uneven spacing between the bangs, because an even interval is exactly what an audience has learned to hear as automatic fire.
How do I build a whole neighbourhood?
Vary the distance, not the volume. Many strings at different distances overlapping reads as a city celebrating, where one loud string reads as somebody in the next garden.
What is the most useful clip here?
The stragglers. A few final bangs at long uneven intervals says a night is ending, and it is the part almost no library carries.
Does this work for Diwali and Lunar New Year?
Yes, and the page is written around them as much as anything else. Ground-level strings are the shape those celebrations actually have, which is why an aerial fireworks clip never quite fits.
Can I use these in a commercial project?
Yes. Audio generated on a paid Morphic plan is cleared for commercial use, including advertising, film, and games.
