Make a title land with a sharp cloth snap
One flag snap on the frame the title appears gives the cut its kick, in a trailer, a sports intro or an animated opening.

Flag snap
One sharp crack as the cloth jerks taut, for a hard cut, a title hit or the moment a standard catches the air.
Unfurling flag
Folded cloth shaken loose and opening out in a rush, for a ceremony, a reveal or a team walking onto the field.
Slow heavy ripple
A huge flag rolling in slow heavy waves, for a wide establishing shot, a monument or a calm moment of real scale.
Raising the flag
Rope running through a pulley and a clip tapping the pole, for a flag being hoisted at a camp, a fort or a ceremony.

Ways to use a flag sound effect
Hold a wide hilltop shot with no music
A flag flapping on its pole carries a long wide shot with nothing else in it, keeping a travel video, a game vista or a podcast scene alive.
Edit prompt
Put the viewer on a fort wall or ship deck
Slow heavy ripples tell the audience they are high up and in the open before the camera pans, in film, games and audio drama.
Edit prompt
Hint that a camp is just over the ridge
A rope squeaking up a pole from off screen suggests people nearby without showing them, useful in adventure games, radio plays and video.

FAQs
What is a flag sound effect?
Flag sounds are the noises of cloth moving on a pole: steady flapping, a sharp snap as it pulls taut, the rush of unfurling and the rope and clip of a hoist. The weight of the fabric and the speed of the air decide whether it flutters or booms.
Where can I get flag sounds for a video?
Writing a prompt gets you there faster than browsing a stock library, and you hear the exact flap or snap your shot needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom flag sound effect?
Describe the flag size, the cloth and the action, then generate it. A prompt like "a heavy cloth flag snapping taut once, one sharp loud crack of fabric" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a flapping, a rippling and a snapping flag?
Flapping is fast, constant fluttering from a smaller flag in strong moving air. Rippling is slow and heavy, the deep roll of a very large flag, and a snap is a single crack as the cloth jerks tight.
Can I use these flag sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my flag sound not sit right in the edit?
The flutter speed often does not match the cloth on screen. A small flag moving fast needs quick crisp flaps, while a huge flag moving slowly needs the heavy ripple, so pick the take whose rhythm matches the folds you see.
