Hit the moment a machine locks into place
A clunk and hiss on the frame a mech arm or loader settles gives a game cutscene, an animation or a product video its payoff.

Hydraulic
The strained whine of a press bearing down, a piston sliding out and back, and the sharp hiss of pressure venting. Describe the hydraulic sound your scene needs and Morphic generates it clean.
- Ask for a press bearing down, a piston stroke or a hiss of vented pressure

Hydraulic sounds for games, animation, and video
Press under load
A deep strained whine as a press bears down on something solid, the sound of serious force being applied.
Piston stroke
A smooth push out and pull back with a soft stop, the move for a mechanical limb, a hatch or a moving platform.
Pressure release
A sharp hiss of fluid and air venting from a valve, a clean way to end a machine action or open something sealed.
Pump motor
A low hum with a faint pulsing whine, the power unit running behind any hydraulic machine on screen.
Arm locking in
A climbing whine that ends in a heavy clunk and a hiss, for a lift, a loader arm or a mech settling into position.
Floor jack strokes
Rhythmic hand pumps with a creak and a hiss on each lift, the small working sound of a car being raised.

Ways to use a hydraulic sound effect
Keep a machinery shot alive without a score
A steady pump hum carries slow shots of equipment at work, so an explainer video or a documentary scene never falls silent.
Edit prompt
Place viewers inside a working factory
A press bearing down tells an audience they are on a heavy industrial floor, in a film, a podcast drama or a game level.
Edit prompt
Hint at a heavy machine moving off camera
A piston stroke heard from behind a wall says something large just shifted, so your sci-fi scene or audio story keeps it hidden.

FAQs
What is a hydraulic sound effect?
It is a recording of a machine moved by fluid under pressure, such as a press, a piston, a lift arm or a jack. The strained whine, the smooth push and the hiss of venting pressure tell the audience that something heavy is being moved with force.
Where can I get hydraulic sounds for a video?
Generate them. Describing the machine and the move takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get a sound that matches what is on screen. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom hydraulic sound effect?
Describe the part, the load and the motion, then generate it. A prompt like "a hydraulic lift arm raising and locking into place, a rising whine ending in a heavy clunk" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a hydraulic and a pneumatic sound?
Hydraulics push fluid, so they sound smooth, heavy and damped, with a strained whine under load. Pneumatics push air, so they sound quicker and lighter, with sharper hisses and snappier stops. For slow, powerful movement, a hydraulic sound reads as more weighty.
Can I use these hydraulic sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my hydraulic sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the speed of the sound does not match the speed of the movement. A quick snappy stroke under a slow heavy arm feels too light. Describe how big the part is and how slowly it moves, and line the stop or the clunk up with the frame the motion ends.
