FAQs
What is an ingredients sound effect?
Ingredients sounds are the noises of raw food being prepped before it is cooked: dicing an onion, cracking eggs, squeezing a lime, piping cream, crushing a tomato and pouring flour. They give recipe videos the close, tactile detail that cameras pick up but microphones often miss.
Where can I get ingredients sounds for a video?
Generate each prep step on Morphic by naming the food and the action. The dice or squeeze arrives faster than a stock library search, matched to your overhead shot. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom ingredients sound effect?
Name the ingredient, the tool or hand and the texture, then generate it. A prompt like "whipped cream squeezed from a piping bag, a loud thick airy squelch" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between ingredients, chopping and cooking sounds?
Ingredients sounds cover the whole prep stage: cracking, squeezing, crushing and pouring as well as cutting. Chopping is only the knife on the board. Cooking sounds start once there is heat, sizzling pans, simmering pots and boiling water.
Can I use these ingredients sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my ingredients sound not sit right in the edit?
The sounds are often too sparse for a busy prep shot. Lay a second take under the first, slightly lower, so the dicing or squeezing never drops out. Keep each crack or squelch on the frame it happens and let the room tone of the shoot fill the gaps.
