Robot movement

A servo whirring as an arm lifts, steel footsteps with a hydraulic hiss and a gripper clamping shut are how a robot moves. Describe the motion and Morphic generates it.

Robot movement sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Arm servo whir

A smooth rising whine with a tiny gear grind, a robot arm lifting or reaching.

Heavy steel steps

Four slow metal thuds with a clank and hydraulic hiss, a big machine walking.

Head turn

A short ratcheting whirr that stops on a firm click, a robot looking toward you.

Hydraulic joint

A pressurised hiss and low pumping thrum that ends in a lock-in clunk, a limb extending.

Wheeled glide

A smooth motor hum with rubber wheels rolling and a faint gear whine, a small robot gliding.

Gripper clamp

Three quick motor ratchets and a hard clack, a claw closing on an object.

Ways to use a robot movement sound effect

Punctuate the moment the robot snaps to attention

A head turn with a firm click on the cut gives a sci-fi short, a game cutscene or a toy ad its alert beat.

Fill a silent factory shot without music

Servo whirs and hydraulic hisses give an empty workshop a pulse under dialogue, in a documentary, a game level or an animation.

Show a machine arriving before it is seen

Heavy steel footsteps approaching establish a threat and its weight, in a thriller, a game level or an animated feature.

Imply a robot at work behind a wall

A gripper clamping and an arm whirring behind a door tells the viewer something is being built, in a mystery, a sketch or an audio drama.

FAQs

What is a robot movement sound effect?
It is the mechanical noise of a robot physically moving: servo whirs, gear clicks, hydraulic hisses and metal footsteps. It covers the body, not the voice or a generic robot hum.
Where can I get robot movement sounds for a video?
Describe the part and the motion and generate it, rather than stitching clips from a sample pack. Each sound here came from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom robot movement sound?
Name the joint and what it does, for example "a hydraulic joint extending, a pressurised hiss with a low pumping thrum". Add the material and how it ends, then generate.
How is this different from the robot and robot voice pages?
Those pages cover a general robot and a synthetic speaking voice. This page is only motion: the servos, steps and joints of a body in movement.
Can I use these robot movement sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. A custom servo sound will not be the one in every other robot clip.
Why does my robot sound like a toy?
Small servo whines read as lightweight. Ask for heavy steel steps or a hydraulic hiss with a lock-in clunk to get weight, and layer a low thud under a high whirr.
