What is a DTF sticker?
DTF stands for direct to film. The design is printed onto a clear film, coated with adhesive powder, then heat pressed onto fabric or another surface. The artwork is an ordinary image file, which is the part you create before anything goes to a printer.
Can I make DTF sticker artwork with AI?
Yes. Describe the design in the Image tool on Morphic and you get original artwork back in HD. Morphic produces the image file, and you send that file to your own DTF printer or transfer shop for the physical print.
What makes artwork print well as a DTF transfer?
Thick outlines, strong contrast and clear colour boundaries. Fine hairlines and soft gradients can smear or drop out at small sizes, so say bold outline and flat colour blocks in the prompt and keep the background plain.
What background should DTF artwork have?
A plain white or single-flat-colour background. It gives you a clean boundary to trim to, and your printer can isolate the design from it easily. Busy or gradient backgrounds make the cut line hard to find.
How large should the artwork be?
Generate at the highest resolution available and scale down to the press size you need. Downscaling keeps the outlines sharp, while enlarging a small file softens edges, which shows up clearly once the transfer is pressed.
Can I sell shirts printed from a design I generate?
Yes. The design comes out of your own wording, so the file is yours to press and sell. Keep the subject invented and avoid describing trademarked characters, logos or brand marks in the prompt.
