Point everything at the reveal
A rising sweep says the important part is two seconds away, which is why product reveals, game trailers and quiz shows all use one.

Build Up
The rising swell that pulls an audience toward a drop, a reveal, or a punchline. Describe the build up your edit needs, from a filtered noise riser to an accelerating drum roll, and Morphic generates it in seconds.
- Say what the climb should feel like, a slow dread crawl or a fast snap of tension, and the riser peaks exactly where you need it.
- A riser shaped around your edit, instead of the stock sweep every other reveal video already opens with.
- Comes back with the peak clearly placed, so lining it up with your cut takes one drag.
Build up risers for trailers, video, and games
Noise riser
Filtered white noise sweeping upward, the plain, dependable climb that fits under almost any cut without adding a key or a tempo.
Drum roll
Snare tension that everyone understands instantly. Announcements, awards and comic timing all still run on it.
Synth riser
A tuned sweep with a musical edge, so it can rise with your track rather than beside it. Good for electronic and title work.
Reverse cymbal
A cymbal played backwards, swelling into the downbeat. Classic, slightly retro, and it lands beautifully on a hard cut.
Whoosh riser
Movement plus lift in one gesture, air rushing past as the pitch climbs. Made for transitions and camera moves.
Layered build up
Noise, tone and percussion stacked together for maximum pressure. Use it when the payoff is big enough to justify it.

Ways to use a build up sound effect
When the pause before the answer drags
Dead air before a result kills momentum. A drum roll or riser turns that wait into anticipation on a livestream or an explainer video.
编辑提示词
Panic that grows before anything happens
Tension you can hear climbing changes how a scene feels before a single thing happens on screen, true in horror as much as in a sports montage.

The thing charging up off-screen
A charge rising off-frame makes a weapon, a spell or a machine feel dangerous, and it does the same for an unseen crowd or storm.

常见问题
What is a build up sound effect?
A build up, also called a riser, is a rising sound that climbs in pitch, volume, or intensity to lead the audience toward a moment: a drop, a reveal, a cut, or a punchline. It can be filtered noise, an accelerating drum roll, a synth glide, or a reversed cymbal, and its whole job is anticipation, so it works because of where it hands off.
Where can I get a build up sound for a video?
Generate one rather than search for it. Describing the riser you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact climb your edit needs instead of the closest available clip. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom build up sound effect?
Describe what rises, how it moves, and how long it climbs, then generate it. A prompt like "filtered noise sweeping upward in pitch and volume over a few seconds, continuous to a peak" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the length so it lands on your drop.
What is the difference between a build up and a boom riser?
A build up is the rise on its own: it climbs and hands off, and you place the hit yourself. A boom riser bakes the landing in, ending on a low boom, so it is a complete gesture. Use a build up when you want to control exactly where the drop lands, and a boom riser when you want the rise and the hit as one clip.
Can I use these build up sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated rather than pulled from a shared library, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my build up not sit right in the edit?
Usually it is length rather than the sound itself. A build up has to peak on the exact frame the drop lands, so if the riser is too long or too short the tension resolves early or overshoots. Generate a version that climbs across the number of seconds you have before the cut, and line its peak up to the drop.
