What is an off sound effect?
It is the cue that tells the audience something has been switched off or has lost power: a click, a descending whir or a final clunk. It nearly always ends on silence.
Where can I get off sounds for a video?
Describe the device and how it shuts down, then generate it. The six sounds on this page each come from the prompt printed beside them, so you can change the machine to fit your scene.
How do I make a custom power-down sound?
Name the device, then the pitch movement. A prompt like "a computer fan spinning down, a continuous whirring that slows in pitch" gives Morphic enough to build it.
What is the difference between a switch click and a power-down whir?
A click is one instant transient with no tail, so it feels immediate. A whir sinks over a second or two, so it feels like energy draining away. Pick by how long the shutdown should take on screen.
