How do I draw a bike so the proportions look right?
Start with the two wheels as circles of equal size, spaced about two wheel diameters apart. Everything else hangs off that. Most wonky bike drawings come from unequal wheels or from a wheelbase that is too short, not from the frame tubes.
How do I draw bicycle spokes without them turning to mush?
Ask for evenly spaced radial spokes and a visible hub, and accept fewer than the real count. Twelve clean spokes read better than thirty-two crowded ones, especially once the drawing is scaled down for a print or a slide.
What angle is best for a bike drawing?
A flat side view is the clearest and the easiest to keep accurate, which is why technical illustrations use it. A three-quarter view is more dynamic but needs both wheels drawn as ellipses on the same perspective, so it is far less forgiving.
How do I draw a motorbike rather than a bicycle?
