How many legs should a bug drawing have?
Insects have six, attached to the middle body section rather than spread along the whole body. Spiders have eight and a two-part body. Saying six segmented legs from the thorax in the prompt keeps the anatomy from drifting.
How do I draw a bug that looks symmetrical?
Use a top-down view and say symmetrical in the prompt. From directly above both sides mirror each other, so the drawing reads as accurate without you having to solve a three-quarter perspective.
How do I draw transparent insect wings?
Draw the vein network in fine line first and lay only a light tone between the cells, leaving most of the wing as bare paper. What shows through underneath should be visible but softened.
