FAQs

How do I draw a teacup so it does not look lopsided?
The rim is an ellipse, not a circle, and it gets narrower the lower your viewpoint sits. Ask for a consistent ellipse at the rim, the base and the saucer, and most wobbly cup drawings come right.
How do I draw steam rising from tea?
Ask for soft curling shapes that stay narrow near the cup and widen and fade as they rise, left as bare paper or lifted out of tone rather than drawn as outlines. Outlined steam always reads as smoke.
Can I make a simple tea drawing to use as a mark or badge?
Yes. Ask for a cup and one leaf at a single even stroke weight, two flat colours, no shading and a plain white background. Leave out any text and add your own lettering in a design tool afterwards.
How do I get a tea drawing on a transparent background?
Ask for a plain white background with no table or cloth and no cast shadow, then crop it tight on the Canvas and remove the white in your editor. A clean silhouette makes that step quick.
What medium suits a tea drawing best?
Fine ink suits a menu vignette, brush pen suits a loose teapot shape, watercolour suits iced tea and warm washes, and charcoal suits a low key mug with steam. Pick the medium before the composition.
Can I keep one style across a set of drink drawings?
Generate the tea first, then use Style Transfer to carry its line weight, palette and paper texture onto coffee, juice and other drinks. A menu or a packaging set then reads as one consistent hand.
