Overview

Ideogram 4.5 is Ideogram's precision edit model, released on September 30, 2026 in Ideogram's app, its API, and launch partners. It is built for editing the same image many times: Ideogram says each edit changes only what you ask for, so pixel shifts, color changes, and artifacts do not pile up. Details are on Ideogram's Ideogram 4.5 page.

What Ideogram 4.5 does differently

Many image models re-draw the whole frame on every edit, so after a few rounds a face softens or a white turns cream. Ideogram 4.5 copies untouched pixels straight from your source and lets you fence an edit with a mask. That makes long sessions practical: recolor, relight, restore, and translate on top of each other.

Ideogram 4.5 on Morphic

Ideogram 4.5 is coming to Morphic. Until then, Ideogram 4.0 is live for text-heavy generation, and image editing runs on Seedream 5.0 Pro, Nano Banana 2, and GPT Image 2.5, all on one Canvas where you can compare edits side by side.

FAQs

What is Ideogram 4.5?
Ideogram 4.5 is Ideogram's image editing model, released on September 30, 2026. Its focus is multi-turn editing: you can edit the same image over and over, and it avoids the pixel shifts, color changes, and artifacts that build up when other models re-render a picture on every pass.
What is new in Ideogram 4.5 compared with Ideogram 4.0?
Ideogram 4.0 is a text-to-image model built around in-image text, layout control, and open weights. Ideogram 4.5 moves the focus to editing: precise edits that copy untouched pixels from the source, masks, up to 4 reference images, crop-and-stitch edits on very large photos, and text edits that keep the original lettering.
What is multi-turn editing?
Multi-turn editing means changing one image in several rounds, such as a new color, then new light, then a removed object, each built on the last result. With most models every round re-draws the whole frame, so small errors pile up. Ideogram 4.5 is designed so each round touches only what you asked for.
How does Ideogram 4.5 keep the rest of the image unchanged?
Its precise edit mode copies every pixel the edit does not meaningfully change straight from your source image, and returns the result at your input's proportions. You can also add a mask, black where the edit goes and white where it must not, to fence the change into one area.
Can Ideogram 4.5 edit or translate text in an image?
Yes. You can change the words on a sign, label, poster, or package, or translate them into another language, and Ideogram 4.5 keeps the lettering's style, size, and position. That suits localizing one design into several markets without redrawing it.
How many reference images does Ideogram 4.5 accept?
Up to 4 reference images per edit, or 3 when you also supply a mask. Use them to steer a specific color, pattern, material, or product into the edit, rather than describing it in words alone.
Is Ideogram 4.5 open source?
Not yet. Ideogram says open weights for 4.5 are coming soon. Its predecessor, Ideogram 4.0, already has public weights you can download and self-host.
Were the images on this page made with Ideogram 4.5?
No. Ideogram 4.5 is not on Morphic yet, so the before and after examples were made on Morphic with the image models live today: each before image was generated first, then edited with the prompt shown. They illustrate the kinds of edits Ideogram 4.5 is built for.
When is Ideogram 4.5 coming to Morphic?
Ideogram 4.5 is coming to Morphic. Until it lands, Ideogram 4.0 is live for text-heavy image generation, and image editing runs today on models like Seedream 5.0 Pro, Nano Banana 2, and GPT Image 2.5.
