FAQs
What is a cling sound effect?
Cling is the bright, high ring of small metal or glass: a steel ball on a plate, a desk bell, a coin dropping into a jar, wind chimes or a triangle. It is lighter than a clang and rings longer than a click, so it works for small rewards, accents and calm moments.
Where can I get cling sounds for a video?
Pick the small source and what it lands on, then generate the cling, which avoids sifting through hundreds of near-identical dings. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom cling sound effect?
Start from the object, the material it strikes and how long it should ring. A prompt like "a single coin dropped into an empty glass jar, a bright ringing cling and a short spinning rattle" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can swap the coin for a key or a bead.
What is the difference between a cling, a clink and a clang?
A clink is short and dry, like two glasses touching. A clang is big, heavy metal ringing low. A cling sits between them, small and bright with a clear ring, so it suits bells, coins and chimes.
Can I use these cling sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my cling sound not sit right in the edit?
Bright high rings cut through everything, so a cling at full level can feel sharp. Lower it until it sits just above the scene, and trim the ring short if the shot changes before it has faded.
