FAQs

What is an emotion sound effect?
It is a short vocal reaction that carries one feeling, such as a joyful laugh, a sob, a sigh of relief or an angry shout. It lets a scene show what a character feels in a single breath, without a full line of dialogue.
Where can I get emotion sounds for a video?
Prompt for it and generate it. Writing the feeling and delivery you need gets you closer than searching by keyword, because emotional clips vary so much. Every clip on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can copy one and change the tag.
How do I make a custom emotion sound effect?
Write the emotion as a tag in square brackets, such as [joyful, laughing] or [fearful gasp, trembling], then add the sound or a very short line. Generate it, and if the feeling is too big or too small, change one word in the tag.
What is the difference between a sob, a sigh and a gasp?
A sob is a broken, voiced cry that reads as grief. A sigh is a long breath out, usually relief or tiredness. A gasp is a sharp breath in, the body reacting to fear or surprise before the mind catches up.
Can I use these emotion sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my emotion sound effect feel out of place?
The size of the reaction often does not match the shot. A wide shot can take a big laugh or a shout, while a close-up needs something smaller and nearer. Match the tag to how close the camera is, and trim any silence before the sound.
