Pling sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Bright notification pling

One clear glassy tone with a soft attack and a short ringing tail, the standard ping for a new alert on a phone or an app.

Soft message pling

A rounded, quiet tone that arrives politely, for a chat message landing in a messaging app or a calm reminder.

Double pling

Two tones one after another, the second a step higher, for a message that asks to be noticed or a task that just completed.

Low warm pling

A single plucked tone that sits lower and rounder, for a calm confirmation in a wellness app or a smart-home panel.

Rising pling

One tone that glides upward in pitch before it rings out, for a level reached, a ping that points up or a screen that opens.

Shimmer pling

A clear high tone trailed by tiny twinkling overtones, for a bonus earned, a new badge or a small piece of good news.

Ways to use a pling sound effect

Mark the moment a message arrives

A pling on the frame the phone lights up gives a screen recording, a vlog or an animated chat its beat, without a cutaway.

Add a gentle cue to a quiet screen recording

A soft pling drops into a tutorial or an app walkthrough that has no music, so the pause between steps does not feel empty.

Give an app demo a calm, tidy feel

A low warm pling over a clean interface sets a relaxed, well-kept tone for a product video, a game menu or a wellness app trailer.

Tell the viewer a notification came in off camera

A double pling from a phone outside the shot hints that someone is trying to reach a character, in a short film or an audio story.

FAQs

What is a pling sound effect?
A pling is one short, bright, plucked or glassy tone, the kind an app plays when a message or alert arrives. It is smaller and simpler than a jingle, so it works as a cue rather than a piece of music.
Where can I get pling sounds for a video?
Describe the pling you want and generate it. The six sounds on this page each came from the prompt printed beside them, so you can start from one and change the tone, the pitch or the number of plings.
How do I make a custom pling?
Say what the tone is made of, glassy, rounded or plucked, how many plings there are and how long the tail rings. A prompt such as "a low pling, one warm rounded plucked tone" gives Morphic enough to work with.
What is the difference between a pling, a ding and a chime?
A pling is a quick, plucked tone with a short tail. A ding is a struck bell with a clear ring, and a chime usually strings several tones together. Pick the pling when you want the smallest, least intrusive cue.
Can I use these pling sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. A pling made for your app is also one that users will not have heard in somebody else's.
Why does my pling sound harsh in the edit?
A hard attack and a very high pitch can feel sharp next to speech. Ask for a soft attack and a rounded tone, or lower the pitch a step, and keep the pling short so it does not cover the voiceover.
