FAQs
What is a soft whoosh sound effect?
It is a quiet, airy pass of sound used to link two moments gently. It has a smooth rise and fall and no hard attack, so it does not draw attention to the edit.
Where can I get soft whoosh sounds for a video?
Describe how gentle you need the transition and generate it, rather than testing dozens of swishes from a library. Each whoosh here was made from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom soft whoosh?
Name the source, such as cloth swept through air, then add quiet, breathy and smooth. State the shape too: rising, falling or a swell that fades.
What makes a whoosh soft rather than punchy?
Softness comes from a slow attack, a low level and airy texture without a bright metallic edge. A punchy whoosh has a sudden start and a hard, bright body.
Can I use these whoosh sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. The sound is generated for your edit, not drawn from a shared pack.
Why does my whoosh feel too loud against dialogue?
The prompt probably implied speed or force. Ask for a quiet, slow swell with no sharp edges, then lower it in the mix so the voice stays in front.
