A locked wide of a bare treeline in silhouette as the afterglow bands from amber at the horizon to deep blue overhead and slowly fades out.

Shadow climbing a hillside

The shadow of the opposite ridge climbs a grassy hillside in slow timelapse, the warm band above it narrowing until the last of the light goes.

Long shadow across a field

A lone tree's shadow stretching across a stubble field as the sun drops behind the camera, the light thickening from yellow to copper.

FAQs

Where can I make sunset stock footage with AI?
You can generate it in your browser on Morphic. Open the Text to Video tool, describe the horizon, the cloud and how far the sun has dropped, and the clip generates in minutes. The colour lands where the sequence wants it, without waiting a week for a clear evening.
Which sunset shots render most reliably?
The afterglow set is the safe one: cloud undersides changing colour, a shadow line climbing a slope, grass backlit at the last minute of light, a warm rectangle moving across a room. A big telephoto disc sinking behind a hard edge also holds. Small suns in a wide frame are the weak spot, since the model tends to smear them, so either make the sun large or leave it below the frame.
How do I get real sunset colour without it turning orange everywhere?
Keep the ground dark. Ask for the foreground in silhouette or blue shadow and put the colour in the sky, the cloud undersides or one rim-lit object. Name two colours and the order they move in, gold to rose, rose to violet, so the clip has a progression to hold. Asking for a whole scene bathed in orange is what produces the flat, filtered look most editors are trying to avoid.
Can I use generated sunset footage in a commercial without a location release?
Yes, provided the terrain stays generic. There is no property or person in the frame, so nothing needs a release, and there is no photographer's licence tied to the clip. The thing to avoid is a recognisable skyline, headland or peak, because a famous view under a famous sky is what makes a location owner take an interest. Describe the horizon by type and keep it unnamed.
How is this different from a stock library subscription?
A library sunset was one evening over one horizon, and the strongest ones are already familiar from other people's work. Generating means the sun sits where your framing wants it, the cloud deck matches the shot before it, and the colour phase is the one your music cue lands on. Nothing arrives watermarked while you are still deciding the length.
