Mark the moment the record starts
A stylus landing, then a burst of crackle settling into hiss, opens a track at the top of a music video, a game menu or an animated title with no ambiguity.

Vinyl Crackle
The warm surface crackle that makes a track sound like a record. Generate the vinyl crackle your edit needs, from a soft steady hiss to a busy pop-filled bed, and lay it clean under your mix.
- Describe the pressing, whether fresh and warm or worn, dusty and full of pops
- Made for your track, not a crackle bed already sitting under a thousand other beats
- Clean audio to download and lay under the mix
Vinyl crackle cues for music, video, and podcasts
Warm steady crackle
A soft, warm surface hiss with gentle random pops, holding an even level. Lay it under a lo-fi beat and the track sounds pressed to a record.
Busy old record
Frequent sharp pops and clicks over a dense hiss, from a pressing that has been played to death. Rougher and dustier than a clean bed.
Light dust noise
Sparse soft ticks over a thin hiss, barely there. Pick this when you want a hint of record warmth that never argues with the mix.
Needle drop start
A soft thud into the groove, a flare of crackle, then a steady hiss. A one-shot opener for a track or for a scene.
Run-out click
A rhythmic tick repeating as the stylus rides the run-out groove over warm hiss. Specifically the sound of a side that has finished.
Deep pops and jumps
Heavy thumping pops with the occasional skip over rough crackle. A scratched, badly stored record, more dramatic than steady noise.

Ways to use a vinyl crackle sound effect
When a wordless stretch needs texture
Soft steady crackle warms a still, wordless beat where a cue would take charge. It suits a podcast intro bed, a video interlude or a calm animated scene.

Warm, worn and nostalgic
A busy old pressing colours everything above it as remembered rather than present: lo-fi beats, a flashback in a short film, a memory sequence in animation.

The side ended and nobody lifted the needle
A run-out tick over hiss says the music finished a while ago and the room is empty, with no insert of the turntable needed in a film or a game scene.

常见问题
What is a vinyl crackle sound effect?
It is the warm surface noise a record makes as the stylus rides the groove, a soft continuous hiss dotted with small pops and clicks. Laid under a track or a scene, it reads instantly as something playing off vinyl, which is why it is a staple of lo-fi music and any edit reaching for an analog, nostalgic feel.
Where can I get a vinyl crackle sound for a video?
Generate one rather than search for it. Describing the crackle you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact texture your track needs instead of the closest available clip. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom vinyl crackle sound effect?
Describe how worn the record is and how busy the crackle should be, then generate it. A prompt like "a steady warm vinyl surface crackle with soft random pops, unbroken" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until the texture fits your mix.
How do I add vinyl crackle to a lo-fi track?
Generate a steady crackle bed, lay it on its own track under the music, and pull the level down until it sits just below the mix so it adds warmth without masking the beat. A light dust noise works under a busy arrangement, while a busier old-record crackle suits a sparse, mellow track that can carry more texture.
Can I use these vinyl crackle sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated rather than pulled from a shared library, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my vinyl crackle sound not sit right in the mix?
Usually the level is too high rather than the crackle being wrong. Surface noise is meant to sit under the music, so if it is loud enough to notice on its own it fights the mix and sounds pasted on. Pull it well below the track and, if it still crowds things, reach for a lighter dust noise instead of a busy old-record crackle.
