Ahh sound effect

Warm, slow and falling gently away, the sound of somebody finally getting what they wanted. The version most edits are after, and the one that works over a cut with no setup at all.

Steady, clear and descending, with none of the breath of the relieved take. The fall is the whole performance: it tells the audience a character has just worked something out.

Thrown out hard and stopped dead. Short and shouted reads as alarm rather than emotion, so it lands on an interruption where a held vowel would drag.

Held until the breath gives out, wavering as it goes. The instability at the end is what separates fear from a shout, and it is the part most stock takes are missing.

Several voices holding one open chord with no words in it. It reads as revelation rather than reaction, which is why it turns up under reveals and product shots.

A room reacting at once, rising rather than holding. Unlike the choir take it is speech, so it reads as real people rather than as a musical flourish.
