What is an impact hit sound effect?

Why does my impact hit not sit right in the edit?
Usually it is timing or low end rather than the sound itself. An impact has to land on the exact frame the picture changes, and if it fights the music in the bass range it turns to mud. Generate a version with the weight you need, line the transient up to the cut, and give it room in the low end.
