FAQs
What is a car alarm sound effect?
A car alarm sound effect is the siren, beeps or honking horn a car makes when its security system is triggered, plus the short chirps when it arms or disarms. Each pattern means something different to an audience, from routine locking to a break-in in progress.
Where can I get car alarm sounds for a video?
Describe the pattern you need on Morphic and it generates the alarm for you, so there is no hunting through stock clips for the right siren. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom car alarm sound effect?
Name the pattern, how loud it is and whether it stops, then generate it. A prompt like "a car alarm beeping fast, a high piercing electronic beep pulsing in a rapid even rhythm" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can tweak the tone or distance.
What is the difference between a car alarm siren, a chirp and a panic horn?
The siren is the long cycling wail of a triggered alarm. A chirp is the short beep you hear when the car locks or unlocks. The panic horn is the car horn itself honking on and off, set off by the owner from the key fob.
Can I use these car alarm sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my car alarm sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually it is too close and too clean for a car that sits across the street in the shot. Lower the level, roll off some of the high end so the alarm sounds further away, and let it keep running under the next cut so it does not stop dead.
