Land the moment the pressure lets go
A rising hydraulic whine and a sharp valve pop hit the exact frame a door opens or a lift drops, in a film, a game or an animation.

- A hand pump gushing, a tyre pump hissing, an electric pump humming or one sucking air
- A gush timed to your farmyard hand pump and the first splash
- Clean, isolated pump audio you download and drop under the handle or the pipes in your edit
Pump sounds for games, animation, and video edits
Hand water pump
An iron handle worked up and down until water spills out, for a farm, a camp or a village with no taps.
Tyre pump strokes
Sharp hisses of air pushed into a tyre, for a bike repair, a roadside stop or a quick workshop moment.
Electric water pump
A motor humming as water churns through pipes, the steady bed under a cellar, a boiler room or a ship.
Small air pump
A fast buzzing motor and a stream of bubbles, for a fish tank, a lab bench or a cramped bedroom.
Hydraulic build
Pressure rising to a whine and a valve letting go, for heavy machinery, a car lift or a sci-fi door.
Running dry
A pump gulping air as the flow breaks up and stops, the sign that something below has gone wrong.

Ways to use a pump sound effect
Keep a cellar scene ticking over without music
An electric pump humming under a long shot gives a basement, a ship or a boiler room a steady pulse, in a video, a game or a podcast.
Edit prompt
Put the audience on a farm far from the mains
An iron hand pump creaking and gushing says rural life and hard work before anyone speaks, in a documentary, a game or an audio drama.
Edit prompt
Warn that something below has failed
A pump gulping air and cutting out tells viewers the water has run out or the pump has failed, so a thriller never shows it.

FAQs
What is a pump sound effect?
It is the sound of a pump moving water or air: a hand pump handle creaking before water gushes, a tyre pump hissing on each stroke, an electric pump humming through pipes or a hydraulic unit building pressure. Each one puts a specific kind of work or machinery into a scene.
Where can I get pump sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the pump you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact stroke or motor your scene needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom pump sound effect?
Describe the pump, what it moves and how it runs, then generate it. A prompt like "an old cast iron hand water pump, the handle creaking up and down before water gushes" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a hand pump, an electric pump and a hydraulic pump sound?
A hand pump is a rhythm of strokes, a creak or a hiss you can count, with water or air arriving on each one. An electric pump is a steady motor hum with liquid moving behind it. A hydraulic pump builds pressure into a rising whine and usually ends in a hiss or a valve release.
Can I use these pump sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my pump sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the strokes do not match the hand on screen. Count the pushes in the shot and ask for the same number with the same gap, so each creak or hiss lands on a movement. For motor pumps, check the hum carries water or air as the picture shows.
