FAQs
What is a traffic jam sound effect?
It is the sound of cars that are not moving: many engines idling, horns overlapping and drivers revving. It is gridlock rather than the flowing hum of a busy road.
Where can I get traffic jam sounds for a video?
Describe the standstill you need and generate it. The six sounds above split the jam into idling, horns, revs and crawling, so you can layer the ones your shot needs.
How do I make a custom traffic jam sound?
Name the vehicles, how many and what they are doing, for example "many car engines idling together in standstill traffic". Add a feel word and generate it.
What is the difference between a traffic jam and traffic noise?
Traffic noise is the passing hum of cars at speed. A jam is dense and stationary, with idling engines and horns that never settle into a flow.
Can I use these traffic jam sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because the jam is generated for you, it does not repeat the same bus horn heard in other videos.
Why does my traffic jam sound too calm?
It may have been written as flowing traffic. Say standstill, add overlapping horns at different pitches and a single impatient rev, which gives the jam its edge.
