Troubleshooting
Fixes for the things that stop a 3D scene: grayed-out controls, objects that do not move, floating objects and exports.
Find the problem you are seeing:
- Motion presets are grayed out
- Nothing moves on Play
- An example replaced my scene
- Editor closed unexpectedly
- Object floats or sinks
- Two-shot will not frame
- 180° check does not run
- Guide shows in the export
- Export video does not start
- Copilot does not change the scene
- Scene is unavailable to the chat
Motion presets are grayed out
'Character motion', 'Camera move' and 'Action preset' stay gray until something is selected. Select a character or object first. 'Character motion' needs a person.
Nothing moves on Play
An object needs at least two keyframes, or a movement path, to move. Add them in Animation.
An example replaced my scene
Loading an example from 'Examples' replaces everything in the open scene. Before you load one, copy your scene on the Canvas: right-click it and click 'Duplicate'. See Copy a scene.
Editor closed unexpectedly
Esc closes the editor unless you are drawing a movement path. Nothing is lost; double-click the scene on the Canvas to open it again.
Object floats or sinks
Select it and click 'Snap to ground' in the 'Selection' tab. It drops onto the surface below it, and its whole path moves with it.
Two-shot will not frame
'Two-shot' and 'Over the shoulder' need two characters in the scene. Add a second one, then frame again.
180° check does not run
If the tab reads 'The 180° check needs two visible characters.', the scene has fewer than two. The check starts when a second character is visible.
Guide shows in the export
Turn on 'Hide in exports' for that object in the 'Selection' tab. It stays visible while you block.
Export video does not start
Video renders in your browser. Update to a current version of Chrome, Edge or Safari, keep the tab open until it finishes, and try again.
Copilot does not change the scene
Check the mode button in the prompt bar. 'Plan only' describes changes without making them, and 'Ask before generating' waits for you to approve a card. Copilot edits scenes on paid plans only. See Edit with Copilot.
Scene is unavailable to the chat
Copilot replies 'The open 3D scene is unavailable to this chat. Reopen the scene and send again.' The scene was deleted, or the chat belongs to another file. Open the scene from its file, click 'Chat', and send your prompt again.
