Punctuate the moment a take falls apart
The buzz or the tape stop on the frame it goes wrong tells the audience to stop watching the scene and start watching the people.

Blooper sound effects
The package that turns a mistake into an outtake: a buzz, a tape stop, a clapperboard, a kazoo, a stumble, and the laugh underneath. Generate the set for your own reel.
- Generate the whole reel package at once rather than hunting six clips from six places

Outtake sounds for video, film, and animation
Mistake buzz
A dull flat rasp rather than a harsh game-show buzzer. Dull is the point: a harsh one reads as a quiz, and this reads as a take being abandoned.
Tape stop
Pitch and speed dropping away into silence. Says the recording itself gave up, which is funnier than any reaction you could cut to.
Clapperboard
A sharp wooden clack with a tiny rattle and no ring. Opens the reel and tells the audience everything after it is off-script.
Kazoo phrase
Three reedy buzzing notes falling and ending flat. Thin and slightly pathetic, which is exactly the register an outtake wants.
Stumble and scramble
Quick uneven footfalls and a scrape as somebody loses their footing. Physical comedy needs the recovery, not just the fall.
Crew laughing
Several people off camera losing it at once. The sound that makes an outtake an outtake rather than a deleted scene.

Ways to use a blooper sound effect
Fill the gap between outtakes without music
A kazoo phrase covers the join between two clips, so a reel keeps moving without a track running under the whole thing.

Tell the audience this is behind the scenes
A clapperboard at the top does in one sound what a title card does in three seconds, and it sets the whole reel in a working set.

Put the crew outside the frame
Off-camera laughter fills the room with people you never show, which is what makes a blooper feel shared rather than staged.

常见问题
Which sounds does a blooper reel actually need?
A cue for the mistake, a way to end the take, something to cover the join between clips, and laughter underneath. The clapperboard at the top is optional but it frames the whole reel in one sound.
Why does my buzzer sound like a quiz show?
It is too harsh and too bright. Ask for a dull flat unpitched rasp instead. A harsh buzzer implies someone is being judged, where a dull one just says the take is over.
How do I get the tape-stop effect?
Describe it as a continuous downward drop in both pitch and speed ending in silence, with a soft mechanical end. Asking for a tape stop by name alone tends to return a rewind instead.
Why does my crew laughter sound like one person?
It was prompted as a group. Ask for several separate voices each starting at a different moment, uneven and overlapping, and put it off to one side so it reads as people behind the camera.
Should the sounds be polished?
No, and that is the one rule worth keeping. Outtake sounds work because they are cheap and thin. A well-produced package makes the reel feel staged, which is the opposite of what it is for.
Can I use these in a monetised video?
Yes. Audio generated on a paid Morphic plan is cleared for commercial use, including monetised video, broadcast, and social.
