Drop a clip into a Morphic chat and ask a question about it. The footage itself is read, not a filename or a stored caption, so the answer comes from what is on screen and in the audio. You get a written report in the same chat, and you can keep asking follow-up questions about the same clip without uploading it again.

What happens and in what order, who or what is on screen, the action, the setting, the camera, on-screen text, and what is said. It also checks a clip for defects: continuity breaks, warped hands or anatomy, morphing, flicker, and abrupt cuts. Ask about something specific and it answers that rather than describing everything.

It marks roughly where each moment falls, which is enough to jump to the right part of a clip. Treat the markers as approximate rather than frame accurate. They are estimates read off the footage rather than values checked against the file, so use them to find a moment and set the actual cut point in the editor.

It is built for clips rather than for feature-length recordings. A short clip comes back with a close, detailed report, while a long one comes back compressed, since more footage has to fit into the same written answer. When you have a long recording, ask about the section that matters.

It quotes what is said where the words matter to your question, but it is not a transcript. When you want every word with timing attached, use video to text transcription instead, which writes out the full spoken record as an SRT. The two work well on the same clip.

You analyze files in your workspace, so download the video first and upload it to the chat. Once it is in Morphic it behaves like any other clip. Trim a long video down to the part you want read before uploading, since a focused clip comes back with a much sharper answer.

The common ones, including MP4 and MOV, along with WebM, AVI, and MPEG. A file recorded on a phone, exported from an editor, or generated on Morphic is read the same way. Anything in an unusual container is worth exporting to MP4 first.
