What the video trimmer does

Frame-accurate trimming
Drag either end of a clip to the frame you want. The trim is stored on the clip as an in and an out point, so cuts land where you put them and stay there as the timeline grows around them.
Blade and ripple delete
Cut at the playhead, remove the section between two cuts, and everything after it closes up behind. No gap left to tidy by hand.
Transitions on the join
Where two trimmed clips meet, drop a fade, a dip to black or a whip pan, each with an equal-power audio crossfade on the same cut. The full set comes with the rebuilt Compose, switched on per workspace.
Trim by asking
Copilot reads the timeline and takes your selection and the playhead as context, so make this one shorter is a complete instruction. Whatever it touches comes back in one undo.
Swap the shot, keep the cut
Replace the media under a clip and the timing you set survives it. A better take, a re-render, a different angle: the trim, the transitions and everything downstream stay where you put them.
Export up to 4K
MP4 at the project's own quality or one you pick, rendered on your machine with no queue. A marked section exports on its own.
A trim can only work with what you filmed. When the cut needs a shot you never got, generate it beside the timeline with Seedance 2.5 or anything else in the model picker, and drop it into the gap the cut left.
Cut video online
A cutter takes out what should not be in the finished video: the false start, the pause before the answer, the take that did not work. Three moves do it:
- Park the playhead where the bad part begins and press B to blade.
- Move to where it ends and blade again.
- Select the section between the two cuts and ripple delete it.
The clips on either side close the gap, so the cut is finished the moment you make it. Keep adjusting the pacing as long as you like: the timeline holds the decisions and only the export renders a file.
Split a video into clips
Splitting is the same blade, used to keep both halves rather than throw one away. Blade a long recording at every scene change and each piece becomes its own clip:
- A podcast becomes its chapters.
- A screen recording becomes its steps.
- An interview becomes the answers worth using.
From there each clip reorders, trims and moves to another track on its own. Export the whole timeline when you are done, or mark one section and export just that piece.
